Either you need a permanent residence permit also known as a Green Card or a work permit also called Employment Authorization Document (EAD), or an employment-related visa that allows you to work for a certain employer. So, for a more temporary working period you need the EAD which is usually valid for a year or two and then requires a renewal. The application process takes around 90 days to finish and you need it to work legally in the USA.

The working culture in the USA differs from the European way. It is more of alive to workway of thinking as compared to the Europeanwork to liveway.
